  1. Pat Stuart says:

As a small non-profit charitable society we would like to keep the society act uncomplicated and user friendly while at the same time holding societies accountable. We support this collatorative submission

  2. Bob Lipsett says:

  4. I would also like to see that the society act was kept simple and yet accountable. For small towns like ours I find other small groups really don’t understand the act as it is. To complicate it would make it more difficult for them. I support this collatorative submission – we are not all lawyers, or business people, just doing our best to move ahead with projects for the community.

  5. We are a small non-profit society. Keeping things as uncomplicated as possible “yet accountable” should benefit all non-profits and the Government as well. We support this collaborative submission.

The Eagle Valley Community Support Society wishes to add it’s name to those supporting the submission of a collective response to changes to the Society Act. We feel the response is well written and expresses our concerns, and we believe the experience in society management by those who created the response will represent us well in discussion.

  11. The Board of Directors of Nelson CARES Society supports the Collaborative Submission to the Minister of Finance.

  12. Dorothy Dergousoff, CGA says:

I support the collaborative submission to the Minister of Finance. I would also like to add that non-profits are a vital economic support sector of today’s market. At a time when governments are taking away financial, emotional, and personal support in many of the sectors that impact on the underprivileged, the seniors, the youth, and the mentally and physically challenged population, I feel that governments should not make societies more difficult to operate, but acknowledge their vital contribution in the areas that the government is creating a void and encourage rather than discourage not-for-profit societies.

  13. Kathleen Jones says:

The Arrow Lakes Fine Arts Guild Society– president Kathleen Jones
